Whitefish Stanton Lodge
Whitefish, Montana

This project involves the design of a 3500sf house near Whitefish, Montana. The building is sited to take advantage of the lake view to the south. The building orientation also lends itself to a passive house system. The southern exposure has a majority of the windows to let in light and passive solar heat and the north is much more opaque and insulated. The open interior plan revolves around a massive 2-story stone fireplace. The kitchen and dining area have expansive operable glazing that allows the rooms to open to the outside during the warm summer months.
