Westport Streetscape Reconstruction
Finding a more efficient way to navigate the waterfront

Schemata Workshop, with Mariano & Associates, presented Master Plan options for Westhaven Drive and the surrounding marina. The primary objectives included the creation of a pedestrian oriented waterfront and mitigating high-tide flooding of the area. Due to the limited width of street right of way, this resulted in the implementation of a one-way traffic couplet, rerouting existing public transit to improve efficiency, reorganizing parking, and improved amenity zones. After the urban design plan was approved by the City of Westport, the team completed construction drawings for the road reconstruction including drainage, road striping, and sidewalk design elements
