A Schemata Workshop Summer

September 01, 2021 in Behind the Scenes

As Summer comes to a close, we thought we’d share all the adventures we had!

Grace

From summer covid-cuts to camper-vans, Grace had a jam-packed summer filled with family on the water, friends on the dance floor at the AMP, and food from the rooftop garden at CHUC.

Mike

In August, Mike set out with Grace and their daughter, Ella, on a peninsula adventure. They rented a Peace Van and explored the coastline for two weeks. Here is his panoramic essay on Cresent Beach, Kalaloch, Lake Ozette, and Pillar Point.

Joann

Joann took a family vacation to the Oregon Coast, complete with kite flying, touring the Tillamook Factory, and playing in the sand. When in Seattle, you could find them riding bikes or trying to stay cool at pools and spray parks

Geoff

This summer Geoff was able to enjoy some in-person events and activities; watching his daughter, Grace, become more confident in her first year on the swim team, Sounders games, and a family rafting trip were just a few of his many summer highlights.

Margaret Tyson

Margaret was able to lock down an AC…after the hottest day of the year. She’ll get ‘em next summer! The heat didn’t stop her from improving her pasta-making skills, scoring at estate sales, growing hot peppers on her rooftop, and volunteering weekly at Seattle Animal Shelter.

Alex

Alex squeezed in some New York architecture stops before making the move across the country to Seattle. While settling in– or as he put it, “Seattling” – Alex was able to try out some new recipes in his new kitchen and do some hiking at Twin Falls.

Margaret Knight

From her son Jude’s first birthday to visiting the tree she planted at four years old to her work with Diversity Roundtable (who worked with CDA’s WILD students and Sawhorse to build a garden shed), Margaret witnessed a lot of growth this summer!

Nora

Nora split their time between Montana and Seattle this summer, exploring and skating through both metropolitan and rural areas. The best part about their summer? Getting a dog!

Rosemarie

Rosemarie had a summer filled with a lot of big adventures and animals. She found a giant moose in Alaska and found snow on the hottest day of the year, one might say she had a pretty cool summer.
