Building Bridges: NOMA 2023 Recap

October 26, 2023

The Annual NOMA conference was an extraordinary journey marked by unity, excellence, and exploration. The "Building Bridges" theme came to life as industry leaders presented cutting-edge topics and as we made new connections and rekindled old ones at the social events hosted every night.

We also celebrated the outstanding contributions of the NOMA and NOMAS members during the awards ceremony, where one remarkable highlight was the recognition of Austin Bass, President of the UW NOMAS chapter, who won the prestigious Member of the Year award.

We also had the opportunity to share our mission with fellow attendees and graduate students at the Grad Fair Expo.

To wrap up the conference, the Bro’s Arts Ball was the final event, where architects from all over the US united in style for this year’s theme: Sneaker Ball. During our downtime, the Schemata staff explored the charms of Portland, touring buildings, savoring local delicacies, and reconnecting with nature on hiking trails. Overall, NOMA 2023 was a whirlwind of experiences, forging new connections and leaving lasting memories. Until next year, NOMA! #NOMA2023 #BuildingBridges
